保險公司萬一倒了，保費會不會白繳？
答案是：不會。原因一，根據保險法第一四九條：保險業因業務或財務狀況顯著惡化，不能支付其債務，或無法履行契約責任，或有損及被保險人權益之虞時，主管機關得依情節之輕重接管，並尋找其他接手業者。但新業者接手之後，可申請調整保額或調高保費，以符合新公司精算標準。
原 因二，保險公司在收取投保人保費之後，會根據險種、保單價值、給付年限、當時利率水準、死亡年齡等變項，從保費中提存固定比例金額，以確保當保單到期時， 有足夠金額可以給付給投保人。這筆提存，稱為「責任準備金」。一般說來，短天期保障型產品平均提存比例較低，約為保費的五成，儲蓄型產品提存比例較高，約 為七到八成。

freak, geek, nerd, dork
這四個字其實好像很容易，但真要用中文解釋起來它的不同還真難．
和我老師討論了老半天，都想不出來要怎麼下筆．
freak 是指怪胎，geek 是指不酷的人，像 Bill Gates．哈哈
nerd 要去看電影 revenge of the nerds 就會知道了，別再把它翻成書呆子了，它並不是．老師說沒有中文可以解釋．等我看完了電影再來發表感想吧． 顏叔叔把它解釋如下：【俚】笨拙的人；衣冠不整的人；衝動無禮的人；令人厭惡的人；無聊的人。:P

recess vs adjourn
recess 和 adjourn 有什麼不同呢?
recess 是暫停會議，待會兒再回來開；而 adjourn 是休會，結束(會議)，休完了會就不用再回去了．
看來是不難懂．好像每次法官休會敲槌子時都是說：adjourn

dismiss vs discharge
dismiss 可以當解散之意，比如：teacher dismisses the class 老師下課
也可以當免職，解雇之意，比如： someone is dismissed from one's job，和被 fire (俚語）是一樣意思，只是比較文雅也正式的說法．
